Alex Honnold Climbs Angola

VICE Sports follows Honnold to Angola, a country a couple of decades out of a twenty seven year civil war and holding some of the least touched big rock on the continent. The trip is not purely a climbing trip: the team connects with a community working to clear land mines left behind by the conflict, and the film gives that as much room as the walls. Shot by Pablo Durana with drone work over terrain almost nobody has filmed, it is one of the odder chapters in Honnold's career and better for it. Expect unclimbed rock, an unfamiliar country, and a local hotel magnate who turns out to be part of the story. A travel documentary that happens to have world class climbing in it.
