Lappnor

Lappnor near Loviisa in Finland is the site of a short red‑granite boulder known worldwide because of the problem called Burden of Dreams. The boulder is compact — the problem measures roughly four metres — yet its difficulty and the projection required elevated it into a landmark for modern bouldering because of the sustained technical and physical demands it presented.

The film The Lappnor Project follows Nalle Hukkataival’s multi‑year obsession with that single line and documents the process that culminated in Burden of Dreams, which the record notes was first climbed on 23 October 2016.
