Climbing in Rocky Mountain National Park

Push the Lines follows Jesse Huey, Matt Segal and Quentin Roberts through repeated winter attempts on a single mixed line on the Diamond of Long's Peak: the film documents mixed techniques, alpine storms, bivies and the attrition of working a serious winter objective over multiple seasons. The narrative is practical and process-driven, emphasizing team logistics and the incremental work required to free a winter mixed route on a high face.

By contrast, Patagonia’s In Sequence: Katie Lamb and the Craft of Hard Bouldering concentrates on concentrated power and choreography. The film follows Katie Lamb as she rehearses and pieces together sequences on granite boulders in the park, notably tracing her work toward the landmark ascent of Box Therapy (V16). It examines training, movement rehearsal, and the balance between a full-time profession and elite-level bouldering.

Placed together, the films underline Rocky Mountain National Park’s range: from high, alpine big-wall mixed climbing on the Diamond to low, intensely technical granite bouldering problems, each filmed as a close study of method, endurance, and the specific demands of the rock and season.
