Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park sits in Colorado’s Front Range and contains a wide range of alpine terrain from forested approaches to high, exposed faces and granite boulders. Its big faces, notably the Diamond on Long’s Peak, demand mixed winter techniques, while compact granite boulders in the park’s high country have become testing ground for very hard bouldering.

The two films available approach those different habits of movement. Push the Lines - Three friends. One winter line. Years in the making. follows Jesse Huey, Matt Segal and Quentin Roberts as they work a single winter mixed free line on the Diamond over multiple seasons. Shot through storms, bivies and repeated attempts, the film is a document of logistics and team dynamics in alpine winter: route-finding on a high face, the use of ice tools and mixed techniques, how a group sequences attempts across seasons, and the physical and mental attrition of big-wall winter climbs.

By contrast In Sequence: Katie Lamb and the Craft of Hard Bouldering is focused on technique rehearsal and movement economy on Rocky Mountain granite. Centered on Katie Lamb’s work on Box Therapy (V16), it shows how sequences are rehearsed like choreography, how training fits around a non‑climbing profession, and how problem reading and micro-sequencing unlocks the hardest boulder problems in the park. Together the films show both the extended commitment of winter big-wall lines and the granular craft of elite granite bouldering.
