Trad route
Drifter's Escape
Drifter's Escape is a multi-pitch trad route on a Squamish wall that combines very hard boulder moves with thin gear placements and sustained crack climbing. The sequence described includes V11 boulder problems above marginal gear (an offset Z4 Camalot), a sustained 5.13 crack, and further V11 moves, creating long sections where small protection must hold in serious exposure. After many attempts the first ascent by Connor Herson in 2025 was proposed at 5.15a, making it notable in discussions of the upper limits of modern trad difficulty.
