A pioneering and highly technical sport route in the Hanshelleren cave at Flatanger, Silence is notable for its inverted kneebar rest and a sequence of moves that required novel training methods. Graded 9c, it marked the first route proposed at that grade and showcased a combination of extreme power, body positioning and rehearsed rests. The climb's difficulty and the detailed preparation behind the ascent have made it a landmark in the progression of sport climbing.
