Ilias Antonopoulos films his redpoint of Girasko Aei Didaskomenos, a sport route graded 7a+ (5.12a) at the Iera Odos crag in Athens. The footage is a focused, seven-minute sequence of the ascent: multiple approaches to the upper crux, deliberate pacing through the middle section, and the athletic tempo required to thread the final moves. Antonopoulos reports 25–35 attempts over a two-year project before the successful go, and the edit preserves the measured effort — a few good shakes just before the crux are visible and audible. The video is also a small portrait of process and place rather than a polished production: it’s Antonopoulos’s first YouTube upload and his first attempt at editing, with Antonis Mantakas belaying on the send. A memorable, human detail — a hornet sting in the ear immediately after the crux (timestamp ~05:46) — punctuates the ascent. One week after this send, Antonis Mantakas also climbed the line, and the film notes the local community’s role in bolting and maintaining Iera Odos; that context is useful for climbers interested in the route and the area’s upkeep.
