In 1999 an eighteen year old Chris Sharma loaded into a beat up RV with Obe Carrion and drove the American West, stopping at the bouldering areas that were only then being discovered and establishing hundreds of problems along the way. Rampage is one of the first films Josh Lowell and Brett Lowell ever made, and it is usually credited with lighting the fuse on the American bouldering revolution. It is a road movie before it is a climbing movie: crashpads, desert light, a teenager who happens to be the strongest person in the sport treating the whole country as an open project list. Watch it for the record of a scene inventing itself, and for Sharma at the exact moment he became the person everyone else was measuring themselves against.
