Swissway to Heaven follows Cédric Lachat around five well-known Swiss climbing areas — the Eiger, Gastlosen, Wendenstöcke, Lauterbrunnen and the Rätikon — and interleaves hard, multi-pitch climbing (the film notes climbs of about 8a and up) with interviews. Directed by Guillaume Broust and produced by Petzl Sport, the film pairs contemporary ascents with conversations with earlier-generation climbers, so you see both the athletic demands of long pitches and the historical perspective on changing gear and styles. The climbing footage is mostly multi-pitch trad and sport on big faces and alpine walls; contributors include Cédric Lachat, Nina Caprez, Mélissa Le Névé, Tobias Suter and others, while figures such as Beat Kammerlander and Claude Remy provide context about first ascents and the evolution of Swiss big-wall climbing. The result is not a how-to but a measured survey of place, grade (8a+ territory appears), and the cultural continuity between mountaineering and modern hard climbing.
