Metanoia

Metanoia is presented as a distinct line on the Eiger’s North Face that combines steep alpine rock with ice and mixed terrain typical of high, northerly faces. The route requires sustained route-finding ability, comfort with objective hazards, and the capacity to mix climbing techniques across rock, ice and snow. Its significance derives from the creative, adaptive approach needed for a big alpine line on one of the Alps’ most notorious faces, rather than from a single crux pitch or a standardized grade.
