Black Pearl

Black Pearl is a recent, extremely hard deep-water solo line on Mallorca’s sea cliffs climbed by Chris Sharma. Like other psicobloc routes it is climbed without ropes above the Mediterranean, combining sustained power climbing and massive fall potential into the water. The ascent footage emphasizes the route’s physical brutality and the dramatic consequences of falls; its exact grade and place in the consensus of hard DWS lines remain less established publicly than Sharma’s earlier Mallorca projects.
