Basic Instinct is a well-known Rocklands boulder that figures regularly in visiting climbers’ tick lists. Located on the sandstone boulders of the Cederberg, the problem is treated as one of the area’s harder, more committing testpieces and demands repeated attention to small holds and sequence refinement.
